Self Development

Practice and be mindful of the RAV-U Principle:

To be Respected Appreciated Valued and Understood

These are the 4 biggest needs of the human soul!

INSIGHT to resolving potential friction in your travels and interactions

  • Avoid assuming you have all the facts

  • Avoid assuming the other side is biased

  • Avoid assuming the other side's motivations and intentions are obvious

  • Be Curious: Help me understand how you see the situation?

  • Be Humble: What do I have wrong?

  • Be Open Minded: Is there another way to explain this?

If you do the top line correctly, the bottom line will follow!

Practice integrity, follow through, keep your word, and work within the laws of the universe....

  • Serve

  • Use empathy

  • Add value to your personal interactions

  • Create quality visits with others

Remember: how you do anything is how you do everything !!!

Be Comfortable out of your Comfort Zone

  • Do not look in the mirror. Be confident.

"Show me a guy who's afraid to look bad, and I'll show you a guy you can beat every time!"

-Lou Brock

  • Don’t count losses - count lessons.

  • Post-event ask yourself what did I learn? Seek lessons more than we seek to avoid losses.

  • When we seek lessons more than we seek to avoid losses, magic happens.
    Become more comfortable with risk.

  • Focus less on the Fear associated with an event and focus more on how you want it to go!

Take the High Road

People of good character always take the High Road!

Low Road people:

  • Seek revenge and retaliation when wronged

  • Play games

  • Are guided by emotions that constantly go up and down

  • Are reactive and live no better than anyone else

High Road people:

  • Extended love and forgiveness

  • Refuse to play games with people

  • Are guided by good character based on values

  • Are proactive and live exceptional lives

"People may not remember exactly what you did or what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel.”

-Maya Angelou

Creativity

Is the practice of combining or rearranging two or more unlikely things in new and useful ways.

Why is this important?

“When we create we give ourselves freely, adding value and expecting nothing in return. To do it we must tap into our true authentic self. This means that creativity is the process of learning to trust oneself. When pure creativity is flowing through you, judgement is unable to grab a hold and slow you down” - Chase Jarvis

Scarcity Thinking vs. Abundance Thinking

Scarcity Thinking:

The scarcity mindset is the belief that there will never be enough — whether it's money, food, emotions or something else entirely — and as a result, your actions and thoughts stem from a place of lack.

  • It's limiting - it directs you away from new opportunities

  • It's easy - when you say ‘no’, then no other work is required

  • It's comforting - because it feels familiar - most people are more fearful of losing a little than they are excited to gain a lot

  • It's deceiving - because it appears to be safer, but it really isn't

  • "It's one thing to lie to yourself - it's another thing to believe it" - S. Pressfield

  • It's crowded - because that is where average people live

Abundance Thinking:

Abundant thinking is an attitude and mindset that focuses on what we do have. It allows us to see possibility rather than limits and can shift our perspective.

  • It's exciting - because when you say "yes" you now need to be creative

  • It's enlarging - much like iron sharpens iron, abundance creates more abundance - experience this enough and you will raise your capacity

  • It's challenging - because new paths are not easy

  • It's rewarding - because once you commit to "yes" then more "yeses" typically follow

Characteristics of People with a higher Abundance Capacity:

  • Abundance People understand the power of perspective

  • Abundance People are generous to others (they believe in others)

  • Abundance People possess high belief (in today, tomorrow, future)

Practice Gratitude

Why is this important:

"The thankful heart is always close to the creative forces of the universe, causing countless blessings to flow towards it by the law of reciprocal relationship, based on a cosmic law of action and reaction."  - Joseph Murray
